
History
The Serbian Baseball Development Association became incorporated in California in June 2010 and received federal tax-exemption status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in February 2011. Prior to that, the SBDA was loosely organized in 2008 where a majority of the planning and outlining for the association took place. From 2008 until present day the SBDA has provided organizational services to the Serbian Baseball Association, PONY League of Serbia, the School Baseball League, as well as the up and coming development of Little League, Serbia. The SBDA has been covered in the October 2010 issue of the “American Srbobran” newspaper, which is a publication of the Serbian National Federation. The association has also received media attention in Serbia, having been spoken about on various occasions on public television.
Throughout this time, the SBDA has received assistance from various other charitable organizations, namely the International Relief Development organization and Lifeline – Chicago, who both have helped with sending donated and purchased equipment to Serbia. The Serbian Baseball Development Association has been able to help programs in various cities and towns throughout Serbia such as Subotica, Sombor, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Čačak, Kraljevo, Sremski Karlovci, and Niš during this time.
